Finprop is a technology invented and pre-designed at J.G. Vermeiden at CIVIS ORBIS. It aims at substantially reducing heavy fuel energy consumption and associated NOx and CO2 emissions on sea-going vessels such as container carriers, dry-bulkers and tankers by replacing screw propellers and possibly podded propellers by a new type of propeller called a Finprop, which is a biomimetical device based on flapping and oscillating propulsion. It is being developed in collaboration with AP moller maersk.
Stardisk is a technology invented and being pre-designed by J.G. Vermeiden at CIVIS ORBIS which aims at substantially reducing the energy consumption and at drastically reducing capital investment for cryogenic air separation (oxygen plant) and for CO2 liquefaction, and allowing a new set of applications and business models to emerge.
Stardisk is a technology invented and being pre-designed by J.G. Vermeiden at CIVIS ORBIS that aims at very substantial improvements of best practice for thermal engine efficiency and , with limited effect on cost/kw and maintenance cost. It constitutes a complete rethink of a thermal machine and allows efficiencies above 80% by virtually eliminating all of thermal losses, friction losses and exhaust losses, on a broad spectrum within the (torque, rotational speed) plane. It will allow very substantial reduction of CO2 emissions and will allow very substantial savings on energy cost for power plants, sea-going transport, inland transport, and road transport.
Photosink is a technology invented and being pre-designed by J.G. Vermeiden at CIVIS ORBIS that aims at very substantial improvements of best practice for solar conversion, resulting in cost per kwh in the order of 1,5 eurocent..
